Notes for Contributors

Creating and editing pages on this wiki is limited to registered users. Contributors are encouraged to add new items (blurbs) to the front page, to create new content pages within the wiki, and to revise or update existing pages.

Front page blurbs link to either external sites or internal pages. These blurbs should be brief (2-5 lines) with a key phrase in boldface and a link to either an external site or an internal page. New blurbs should appear at the top of one of the two columns. End each blurb with the link …more or …updated (if updating an existing page). The columns are located between html code. Look for the following instructions

<!-- PUT FIRST COLUMN CONTENT BELOW -->
<!-- PUT SECOND COLUMN CONTENT BELOW -->

Formatting should follow the syntax for dokuwiki.

We are also tagging entries with keywords that take the user to the POD Del.icio.us site. Follow each entry with this code, replacing “keywordhere” with the relevant tag.

<tag>[[tag>keywordhere]][[tag>keywordhere]]</tag>

The relevant kinds of entries will include links to:

  • external articles or essays
  • software, online services or courseware to enhance teaching, learning or productivity
  • internal or external tutorials
  • educational blogs or online journals
  • examples of courses or assignments

As the front page columns become too long, items will be placed in archives.

Technologies for Teaching and Learning is a wiki. Nearly all pages are open to revision from registered users. Users are encouraged to treat each page as a group document and to revise, add or delete content as they think best suits the topic and the mission of the website. Though the user who creates a page is not the owner of the page, he/she will be expected to monitor activity on that page and ensure the credibility of the content and integrity of the site.
