November 16, 2007 Blackbard and Media
Below are links to some of sites and programs we discussed during the session. Both YouTube and Vimeo allow you to upload videos (or find existing videos) and then share with with others. You can use the embedding scripts they provide to post selected videos on your class Blackboard site. \In Blackboard, just add an “item” where you want to display the video. Toggle on the html code in the “description” box (look for the ”<>” symbol) and paste the video embedding script you copied from the video page.
You can also prepare a video for streaming, store it in your NKU streaming video directory, and create a reference movie that points to your streaming video file (follow the directions in the NKU Streaming Media Users Guide). You can then post the reference movie in your class Blackboard site. Consider uploading the reference movie to your Blackboard content collection. You can then select it when creating a new “item” in Blackboard.
